Japanese Fast Food @ Sakae Sushi, IOI Mall, Puchong
It was one of those days where one of us had to run some errands, and so, we ended up at IOI Mall in Puchong.
We couldn’t really decide on what to eat since what IOI Mall had to offer were mainly fast food joints. Since it was the last working day of the week and we wanted to enjoy our lunch, we went to Sakae Sushi.
Once we sat down, we just got our hungry paws on the dishes on the kaiten belt and quickly wolfed down a couple of soft-shell crab dishes.
Soft-shell crab maki is always a favourite. There was also a new type of soft-shell crab dish – fried soft-shell crab with cheese.
Both were red plate items which cost RM5.90 each. Pricey but quite delicious.
We were quite hungry and decided to order our own individual “donburi” (rice dishes)…
Our leng lui lunchkaki member ordered the Gyu Don which is beef with rice. The beef was soft and succulent.
Our fussy eater ordered ebi tempura don. Look at all the fried bits on top of the rice!!
I ordered the curry chicken katsu (RM13.90) don which took a while to come after a mix-up occurred. Crispy and quite tasty.
We ordered a few other side dishes while waiting for our donburi…
Yummy salmon sashimi which were served on cold packs.
There’s also toro salmon sashimi which is the belly of the salmon sashimi… There wasn’t enough fat on the fish but it was fresh and smooth.
There’s also the ever popular hana maki which is sushi rice wrapped with salmon slices topped off with a bit of mayonaise and prawn roe. Yummy!
Kakiage – vegetable slices tempura at RM1.90 per plate. It was made to order as it was not found on the kaiten belt.
We tend realized that there was a promotion for Citibank credit card holders where we can get this salmon mentai sushi for free or RM1.30 per plate. The code roe placed on top of the salmon sushi is blasted with a hand torch to cook the code roe. Delicious!
After all that food, our leng lui kaki was STILL HUNGRY! So, she ordered her unagi temaki which came out not looking like the photo in the menu… -__-”
In the end, the total damage of our lunch was around RM113!! However, it was absolutely worth it…
